PCSD: A Message from Superintendent Dr. Kennedy
Dear Pawling Central School District Community,
I hope this message finds you well and staying cool during this intense summer heat.
It is an incredible honor to serve as your Superintendent of Schools. I begin this role with deep gratitude, great respect for this community, and tremendous excitement for the work we will do together on behalf of Pawling’s students.
I have always admired this community, and I am eager to bring my years of experience to this work at such an exciting and meaningful moment. From the very beginning of my introduction to this district, it was clear to me that Pawling is a truly special place. Pawling is a community where students are embraced, educators care deeply, and families and community members consistently show up in support of their schools. I look forward to meeting you, listening, learning, and building relationships throughout the Pawling community.
I want to express my sincere appreciation to Mr. DiCarlo for his leadership, service, and support throughout this transition. Looking ahead, I plan to continue Mr. DiCarlo’s weekly Friday Tiger Talk updates as a way to share information, celebrate our schools, and stay connected with the community throughout the year.
I also want to take a moment to recognize our Facilities and Operations Department, who have been extremely hard at work this summer with renovations and projects taking place throughout the district. They are already doing an outstanding job preparing our buildings and grounds for the year ahead, and I am grateful for their dedication and efforts.
Please note that the district will be closed tomorrow, Friday, July 3, in observance of the July 4th holiday.
I hope this historic holiday weekend gives each of you time to rest, reflect, and enjoy the people and places that matter most to you. Please stay safe and cool as you celebrate.
Thank you for your continued support of the Pawling Central School District. I am honored to begin this journey with you.
Happy Fourth of July, and go Tigers!
With gratitude,
Dr. Elizabeth Kennedy
Superintendent of Schools
Pawling Central School District
